The Czech Bone Marrow Donor Registry, now known as the Czech Haematopoietic Cell Donor Registry, was established in 1991 at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague and is part of a network of more than 70 registries worldwide. Since 2016, the Registry has been accredited in accordance with the standards of the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA).

The Registry’s main activities include recruiting new donors, maintaining their records, and searching for suitable donors or umbilical cord blood grafts for both Czech and international patients.
