Webcam catalogue
An online catalogue of webcams from the Liberec Region. Using live images or video feeds, you can monitor, for example:
- river water levels
- road conditions
- car park occupancy
- current weather
- occupancy at ski resorts, swimming pools and other sports facilities
When the number of cameras in the catalogue exceeded fifty in 2016, it became clear that displaying the data solely in a table would soon become confusing. I chose the Mapy.cz API to create the map mainly because of the winter and tourist map layers, which are best suited for a webcam catalogue. I subsequently incorporated the map into the submission form as well, as it is much easier for users to click on a specific location on the map than to describe it in words.
