kriedová.sk
A community map of chalk graffiti across Slovakia
kriedová.sk is a community-based web application for mapping and archiving chalk graffiti on pavements across Slovakia. Users can photograph a piece of graffiti, mark its location and add it to a public gallery. The project captures creative and civic expressions in public spaces, allows them to be explored via an interactive map, and creates a digital archive of graffiti that would otherwise quickly disappear.
In this project, we use the Maps.com API primarily for map tiles and reverse geocoding. The map data serves as an interactive map for placing signs, whilst the rGeocode API automatically determines the city, street and postcode based on GPS coordinates. We chose Mapy.com for its detailed data covering Central Europe and its reliable geolocation for Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
