The National Heritage Institute is a state-funded organisation under the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. Under current legislation, particularly the Heritage Act, it is entrusted with a range of specialist tasks relating to state heritage conservation. It also administers over 100 state-owned heritage sites.
The main purpose of this website is to raise public awareness of the role of heritage conservation and to inform visitors about events at heritage sites, providing relevant information on opening hours and cultural events taking place at these sites.

The maps are used to help visitors find their way around – on the National Heritage Institute’s main website, they mainly provide an overview of the location of monuments across the Czech Republic, whilst on the individual monuments’ pages they help visitors find their way around the immediate vicinity of the monument.
