A web map of the resident parking scheme in Brno.
The parkovanivbrne.cz website features an interactive map of the parking system in Brno. The map shows three visitor zones (A, B, C) with tiered parking charges – the closer to the city centre, the more expensive it is. Users can see the boundaries of each zone, parking meters and other important information. The map also shows the planned expansion of the zones by 2026.
In this project, we primarily use the Mapy.cz API to display base maps. We chose these maps for their high quality and level of detail, particularly for the Czech Republic. We previously used an older version of the Mapy.cz API, and when support for it ended, we decided to switch to the new version.
In addition to base maps, we also use the Mapy.cz API for the address search function. This feature allows website visitors to easily determine their location, which is useful for displaying relevant information on the map.
