A web application for a checkpoint-capture competition
RAIL tour is a race for teams of 3–5 members, who may only travel on foot or by rail. The aim of the race is to capture checkpoints along the way and score as many points as possible. In just under 5 days, you’ll cover over 100 km, visit many beautiful places in the Czech Republic and the border regions, and you’ll want to return there someday.
Throughout the race, the teams carry GPS trackers which show their location on the map every four minutes. The randomly selected checkpoints are also displayed here. The Mapy.com API is used to render the map and all other elements. Given the need for Czech tourist maps, this API was the obvious choice.
