An abdominal aortic aneurysm is a silent condition that most commonly affects men over the age of 60. An undiagnosed aneurysm can rupture without warning and be life-threatening. From 1 January 2025, a preventive screening programme for the early detection of this condition in the highest-risk group of the population will be launched in the Czech Republic. The screening test is quick, painless and only needs to be done once in a lifetime.
